Fuel-Price Hikes – Any Hope

When was that? Sunday, 18th February 2013. I had come back from church exhausted. I devoured my supper like a hungry lion. I enjoyed every grain of the jollof rice I was served for supper. The taste was enhanced because its preparation was tampered with love. Have you ever tasted food like that?  After supper, I turned to the television thinking about how I would overcome laziness and move to my room, take of my clothes and shower before I allow sleep to kiss my brows good night. What I saw shocked me. Thank God I had already finished my meal.

The news could probably have left the food sour in my mouth. Fuel prices have gone up again. While analyst were debating the economic impact and the necessity or otherwise of the decision taken, a large section of the general the general public sampled greeted the decision with disdain.

A particular respondent vented so much of his anger on the authorities because, according to him, the general public was not duly informed of the impending price hikes. He had come to the bus terminal hoping to make his journey back home only to be told that the prices had changed. WHAT A SHOCK!

If you lived in places where drivers and their conductors are suspect, it is not uncommon to see passengers fighting with conductors just because they are of the opinion that they are being swindled when fare prices change.

Just look at this, in a country like Ghana where majority of the over 24million people live on less than $2.00 a day, one can understand why government policy which triggers increase in prices across board will meet public outcry. Each of these people living with less than $2 a day cannot even afford a gallon of diesel which is in excess of $3.

I thought for a moment. Is this not what we experience all the time? Can we not see that the way of the future is subsidy removal? I am not here to argue for or against subsidy removal. I am of the opinion that, our politicians do not hold the key to solving our problems. They use decisions such as subsidy removal and liberalisation to garner favour from foreign donors, such as the IMF and World Bank. They want to be seen as dedicated to ensuring fiscal discipline when they do not do anything about their spending spree which is largely responsible for the huge budget deficit, the excuse to increase fuel prices when global crude oil prices go up.

Fuel prices have become a thorny political issue. Let’s leave that discussion to the politicians.

Every political party is suspect. The general public have trusted in politicians to turn their economic woes around.

Every increase in fuel prices lead to untold hardship to the populace. The situation is not about to change anytime soon. What if you could take advantage and position yourself for the future?

What if you could provide succour for car owners and firms who use fuel?

What if you could also improve the purchasing power of the passengers by giving them the opportunity to earn supplemental income? Can you imagine the joy you will put on people’s faces.

Can you see that right in front of you is a great business opportunity?

I found in Dr. Mensah Otabil’s quote an important motivation. “ … in every adversity, there is an equal potential advantage.”

Why don’t you find out the possibility of improving people’s lives?

How to Build a Huge Network Marketing Business

Network Marketing LegendI must be sincere, much of what I am about to share with you on, “how to build a huge network marketing organisation”, today is not my original idea. I learnt it from a number of network marketing legends.  I will not discount the fact however that, I have interspersed these great lessons with personal experiences with the valuable information and wealth of experience that was shared to me.

If you joined network marketing or a multi-level marketing company, chances are that you saw an opportunity that will ease if not totally wipe away your financial woes. True. There are countless stories of people whose situation received a complete overhauling because the joined the bandwagon of a network marketing company. From each success story however, one can always glean the valuable information that leverage was the key to success in multi-level marketing (mlm) or network marketing. For the ease of flow in this piece, I would use mlm, multi-level marketing and network marketing interchangeably.

When you sit in the presentation of a typical network marketing opportunity, the concept of building a huge organisation is so simplified that you can almost feel even your dog could attain success with that program. As a result, many people jump in without even understanding how success comes to the top shots in the network marketing world. After all, you just need to get two people, then they go out and get two people, then the situation repeats itself until you have an organisation of ten thousand distributors/reps.

Some people are lucky and the first two reps they sponsor build huge teams under them. They suddenly become six figure earners overnight. I am sure that you will not like to build your business based on luck. Look, these happy go lucky success chalkers are only a tiny fraction of the success stories of network marketing.

Before you get me wrong, let me come clear on this one. Network marketing is legitimate and holds the key for you to build a huge organisation that will eventually make you enjoy time and financial freedom. The caveat however is that you must learn to do it right.

Network Marketing professionals

It is no wonder that 93% of the people who venture into network marketing fail mainly because they have not taken the time to learn the rules of the game. They do not understand the business model. I was the same and failing miserably. Though I was failing, the success chalked by others told me that it was doable. Maybe there was a principle being applied. When I gave myself to learning the secrets of building a huge network marketing organisation, my overview of how to build my network marketing business changed. If you are willing to learn a few of the things I learnt, lets roll.

First and foremost, network marketing is a profession. You are the professional building your business. This basic understanding that you are building a business will do the trick for most people. Every business has working hours. Set your working hours and keep to it. It requires great self discipline to do this. This missing ingredient accounts for failure for most people.

If you are building a business, then there is the need to promote your business. Understand this. Network Marketing is a numbers game. You need to go through a network marketing is about large numberslarge sample of prospects before you get to recruit or sponsor people of quality into your organisation. It is these quality people you sponsor that will help you attain your goal of financial freedom.

Imagine how many people you can talk to in a day if you spent an average of 1hour presenting your opportunity  to people. Where is your personal brand?Clearly, you will have to give your business a promotional boost so that you can have many people to show your opportunity to at the same time. You have to advertise your business. If you do your advertising well, your business will get a major boost. Awwww… advertise does not necessarily mean that you need to spend money. But if you have to, what is wrong with that? Who should build your business for you? Are you not willing to take hold of the of  your business and direct it to where you expect it? You will need to develop a system that makes you reach as many people as possible. There are free methods and paid methods to do this. You can use social media such as facebook, twitter, linkedin etc, content marketing such as blogging, article, video marketing, etc. You can also use classified ads to generate tons of leads. The key here is that you have to know how to do this right so that you don’t get ghosted, as users of craigslist will term it. Get a coach to take you through which ever strategy you decide to master. You can add the rest later.

Anybody who gets into contact with you must identify that unique thing which sets you apart. It is called your personal brand. It is the same brand that you permeate in to your business. Now you need to have succeeded to build a credible brand and you need a credible brand to succeed. What a dilemma. Today however, even newbies can be branded just because of the brands they associate with. I chose to go all the way with MLSP. Stop Pitching Your Network Marketing Opportunity

Yes!! I just gave a straight blatant shoot at it. It sucks when you pitch people with your network marketing opportunity.

I will tell you shortly. Before then, have you realised that friends and loved ones avoid it when you start talking about your opportunity to them and pestering them that they need to join you? Ask Mark Yarnell. His father did everything to stop him when he decided to give network marketing a shot of his life.

Let me tell you a story. It is a true story. I know a man who started a network marketing business. He failed in a couple and was neck deep about to drawn in his last opportunity. This man had read the book by Robert Kiyosaki titled “Business of the 21st Century”. He knew that this the industry that can turn his financial fortunes and make him a monthly seven figure earner and still give him the luxury of the time to spend enjoy with his family and loved ones. My friend told me that, it would take him between 20 to 30years if he had to make six figures a month in his current organisation.

When my friend joined his present opportunity, he was determined to succeed. He did all his upline to do. He followed his companies training rigorously. In less than a month, he had spoken to over two hundred people and signed up four people. His moral was boosted. Was he soon to become the next Randy Gage? His hopes were high and his energies multiplied. He shared his story. It was working. Or was it?

Soon, he realised that he had spoken to everybody he knew on earth about his network marketing opportunity (Just kidding), but that is how it felt. Many people did not care about his golden life-saving seven figure making opportunity. Sadly enough, he could not meet as many people to present his opportunity to. He took to advertising and realised that, people did not respond. Was he missing something?

People avoided him. This was to be expected because trainings from his company showed him how to deal with rejection. But why will people not reject you when you just go straight to them and pitch your business? Are you their personal financial advisor or entrepreneur consultant? I will show you a model called attraction marketing later.

As my friend had exhausted his warm market, he decided to venture into the cold market. Rejection was much more severe. He felt like giving up and calling it quits. I know my friend. He is not one who quits so easily. He would find a way to become the top producer in his company.

He advertised his company.

His results sucks!!!

The response was poor. He had however made a good move. But why were the results poor? Others advertised the same company too. People preferred to join the team of the presenters and those who ran the show. They wanted to be with the celebrities in my friend’s network marketing company.

My friend had to think outside the box. How do I become the one who people get attracted to?

Become a star. PERIOD!!. To win their hearts, my friend decided to become a star first. He decided to give people great value for free. This was value that he had paid several hundreds of dollars for. When people received the gifts he gave them, they knew/thought that he had more to give. Now, prospects were gravitating towards my friend like a magnet. People would ask him about his opportunity even if he did not speak about it. Everyone wanted to be in his team.

Why you should not pitch your network marketing opportunity

  1. It sucks. It simply is unprofessional. No one will really want to join you. The catch is that when you chase people around, they don’t want to come to you. Ask the guys. They somehow ran from ladies who are chasing/pestering them and they go for the ladies who are ignoring them. This is simply human nature. Pitching is like gravels in the mouth. Become a consultant or trusted advisor and see people coming to you.
  2. The next time you tell someone your company is the best and all the stuff you say to pitch your business, remember this phrase, who cares? They would have joined you if they cared. People feel that you don’t even care about them when you pitch them your opportunity and they reciprocate.
  3. When you give people value regardless of whether they join you or not, they see that you are selfless. As a result, they want to buy from you when you have not offered to sell anything. They simply want to pay you back for your generousity.
  4. When you pitch your opportunity, people see you as a sales person, and we all don’t like sales people, EVEN YOU. Give value and get die-hard fans who take your every advise
